RECOMMENDATION:
5:32 p.m. Public Hearing for consideration of adopting an Ordinance amending the Inoperable Vehicle Ordinance.
Recommendation: That the Board adopt an Ordinance amending Chapter 42, Section 42-196, of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances, as it relates to inoperable vehicles, and providing a definition of "inoperable" and "vehicle."
BACKGROUND:
At its April 23, 2015 meeting, the Board approved setting the Public Hearing for consideration of amending the Inoperable Vehicle Ordinance.
The enforcement of Escambia County's environmental code advances the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens. Inoperable vehicles may qualify as a nuisance condition. In order to enhance environmental code enforcement officers' ability to identify and abate nuisance conditions caused by inoperable vehicles, it is necessary to amend the language of the Ordinance and to define the words "inoperable" and "vehicle."
