Recommendation Concerning the Amendment of the BCC Employee Discipline Policy - Thomas G. "Tom" Turner - Human Resources Department Director
That the Board adopt the revised Policy, entitled “Discipline Policy,” amending Section II, Part C.2, of the Board of County Commissioners’ (BCC) Policy Manual, to address a change due to Florida Statutes.
BACKGROUND:
Upon further review of the County’s new Discipline Policy, which was amended on October 1, 2014 and its predecessor Discipline Policy, adopted April 15, 2004, it was noted that one particular paragraph addressing firearms in the workplace was in conflict with a change in the Florida Statutes in 2011. Accordingly, it is recommended that C.12 of the newly approved Discipline Policy and C.15 of the Discipline Policy adopted April 15, 2004 be revised.

The County Attorney has reviewed the policy and concurs with the changes.
