RECOMMENDATION:
5:33 p.m. Public Hearing for consideration of adopting an Ordinance amending Volume 1, Chapter 10, Article I, Sections 10-7, 10-11, 10-16, and 10-22, and repealing Section 10-12 of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances, relating to animal control. Recommendation: That the Board adopt an Ordinance amending Volume 1, Chapter 10, Article I, Sections 10-7, 10-11, 10-16, and 10-22, and repealing Section 10-12, of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances, relating to animal control.
BACKGROUND:
As proposed, Section 10-7 relating to the issuance of citations would be amended to clarify the procedure the Clerk's Office will follow in the event that a person cited with a violation fails to pay the civil penalty; Section 10-11 relating to animal control would be amended to clarify the requirements relating to animals roaming at large; Section 10-16 relating to animal cruelty would be amended to clarify the requirements related to tethering; Section 10-22 relating to territorial jurisdiction would be amended to clarify the application of the Code; Section 10-12 relating to Direct Control would be repealed in it's entirely.
