CARES Act Provider Relief Fund (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act)
The CARES Act Provider Relief Fund is allocated for general distribution to Medicare facilities and providers impacted by COVID-19, based on eligible providers' 2018 net patient revenue. Large organizations receive payments for each of their billing TINs that bill Medicare, which is EMS for Escambia County.
Escambia County was automatically sent $395,998.12, based on Medicare from EMS which will be put into the EMS Fund 408, under a EMS CARES Act Revenue Code of 331295. Because Escambia County received these funds automatically, an attestation confirming receipt of funds will need to be signed and agree to the terms and conditions of payment. These are payments, not loans, to healthcare providers, and will not need to be repaid.
This Fund can only be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, and shall reimburse the recipient only for health care related expenses or lost revenues that are attributable to coronavirus. Quarterly reporting will be required 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter.
