Recommendation Concerning Approval of the First of Two Possible One-Year Renewal Periods Related to PD 16-17.087, Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Delivery - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing
That the Board approve the utilization of the first of two possible one-year renewal periods provided for under Section 2 of the Agreement for Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Delivery, with Cougar Oil, Inc., retroactive to October 1, 2018.

BACKGROUND:
Invitation to Bid, PD 16-17.087, Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Delivery, was publicly noticed on September 11, 2017. The County entered into an agreement with Cougar Oil, Inc. on April 5, 2018. Section 2 of the Agreement outlines the Term of the agreement, which states that the first period of the agreement will end September 30, 2018, and provides for up to two optional one-year renewal periods. This first renewal period will cover from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney, prepared the initial agreement. The utilization of the renewal period as provided for in Section 2 of the agreement does not require an amendment to the agreement.

This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon approval by the Board, the Office of Purchasing will communicate with the impacted department(s) as well as the firm, Cougar Oil, Inc. regarding the renewal.
