Recommendation Concerning the Board of County Commissioners' Canvassing Board Appointments - Jack R. Brown, County Administrator
That the Board take the following action:
A. Appoint Commissioner Jeff Bergosh, Chairman, as the Board of County Commissioners’ (BCC's) Canvassing Board appointee;
B. Appoint Commissioner Steven Barry, as the BCC's First Alternate to the Canvassing Board;
C. Appoint Commissioner Lumon May, as the BCC's Second Alternate to the Canvassing Board; and
D. Approve out-of-County travel for Commissioner Jeff Bergosh to attend the 2018 Florida State Association of Supervisor of Elections (FSASE) Annual Canvassing Board Workshop in Orlando, Florida, on April 20, 2018.

BACKGROUND:
Florida Statutes, Section 102.141, established the composition of County Canvassing Boards. Under Section 102.141(1), the County Canvassing Board shall be composed of the Supervisor of Elections; a County Court Judge, who shall act as Chair; and the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Expenditures for travel expenses will be from budgeted funds within Cost Center 110101, Object Codes 54001, 55401, and 55501.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Travel authorizations/reimbursements are in compliance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 112.061, Per Diem and Travel Expenses, and the Board of County Commissioners’ Policy “Out-Of-County Travel, Section I, Part C.4.”
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon Board approval, the County Administrator’s Office will coordinate the travel arrangements.
