BACKGROUND:
Structured Query Language (SQL) servers support all of the operations of Escambia County Board of County Commissioners. The Information Technology department over the years has contracted with a professional services DBA (Data Base Administrator) firm for support, which requires more in depth knowledge than the staff have. This has proven to be a good solution over the years because it is more cost effective than having a full time DBA on staff with the Information Technology department.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The funds are currently available in the budget in General Fund (001), Cost Center 270102 and Object Code 53101.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
Hixardt Technologies Structured Query Language (SQL) Service Agreement has been approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
PERSONNEL:
The implementation of this service agreement will be accomplished with Hixardt Technologies and Information Technology staff.
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Board approval required by Ordinance 2001-60
