Recommendation Concerning Waste Services Department Equipment Purchase - Patrick T. Johnson, Waste Services Department Director
That the Board approve the purchase of one VE 16-17.0, 55-ton Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck Lowboy Trailer, from Thompson Tractor Company, for the amount of $69,952.29, per the terms and conditions of NJPA Contract #032515-CAT.
In compliance with the Local Preference Initiative, this equipment purchase was posted on the County website for 30 days August 24, 2017, through September 25, 2017. No proposals were received. This unit will primarily be utilized to mobilize/demobilize heavy waste handling equipment from the active Class 1 landfill to maintenance area for repair/maintenance.

BACKGROUND:
Landfill haul roads have been asphalted to improve storm water quality, customer egress/ingress and decrease haul road maintenance costs. Heavy waste handling equipment in contact with asphalt surface poses significant damage. Trailer will allow for heavy waste handling equipment to be safely mobilized to maintenance area as needed.

Funding for the purchase of this equipment is available in Fund 401 Solid Waste, Cost Center 230314, Object Code 56401
