Recommendation Concerning the 2016 NACo Annual Conference Voting Credentials - Grover C. Robinson, Chairman, County Commissioner, District 4
That the Board take the following action concerning the 2016 NACo Annual Conference:
A. Designate Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, IV, as Escambia County's delegate; and
B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the 2016 NACo Credentials (Voting) Identification Form.
BACKGROUND:
The National Association of Counties {NACo} is the only national organization that represents county governments in the United States. NACO has provided essential services to local governments since it was founded in 1935. NACo advances issues with a unified voice before the federal government, improves the public's understanding of county government, assists counties in finding and sharing innovative solutions through education and research, and provides value-added services to save counties and taxpayers money.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funding for the 2016 NACo Annual Conference was approved by the Board on October 22, 2015, as part of the 2015-2016 Annual Travel/Conference Schedule.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
Travel reimbursement is in compliance with Florida Statutes Chapter 112.061 Per Diem and Travel Expenses.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Board Policy, Section 1, Part 4(a), requires Commission approval for out-of-County travel by Commissioners, County Administrator, and the County Attorney. NACo requires the Chairman of the Board to sign the 2016 NACo Credentials Voting Form and return it to NACo by July 1, 2016.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon Board approval, the County Administrator's Office will make sure that the 2016 NACo Credentials Voting Form is mailed to NACo.
