RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Mutual Aid Agreement relating to Fire Protection Services with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
That the Board take the following action:
A. Rescind the prior approval of the Mutual Aid Agreement for Fire Protection Services; and
B. Approve the revised version of the Mutual Aid Agreement for Fire Protection Services and ratify the signature of Fire Chief, Patrick T. Grace.
BACKGROUND:
On March 3, 2016, the Board previously approved the Mutual Aid Agreement relating to Fire Protection Services for the Tribe’s property located on the 8100 block of Nokomis Road. Paragraph 10 of the Agreement relating to termination was subsequently revised as follows:
This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect for as long as the Memorandum of Agreement between Escambia County and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians relating to Fire Protection Services remains in effect unless earlieruntil terminated at the request of either party upon the requesting party providing at least thirty (30) days’ written notification of such request to the other party and each department’s ECC.
