Recommendation Concerning Supplemental Budget Amendment #119 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services
That the Board adopt the Resolution approving Supplemental Budget Amendment #119, Gulf Coast Restoration Fund (118), in the amount of $491,190, to recognize Grant proceeds from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and to appropriate these funds to be used for the Deep Water Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) Phase III Early Restoration Project and Perdido Key Dune Restoration Grant Project.
BACKGROUND:
The Dune system along Perdido Key was degraded as a result of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill incident in the Summer of 2010 and subsequent cleanup operations. Restoration of these impacts was approved through NRDA Phase III. Escambia County will conduct a dune restoration project along six miles of beach and include activities such as installation of dune fencing and native salt-tolerant vegetation. BUDGETARY IMPACT:
This amendment will increase Fund 118 by $491,190.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
The Grant Agreement S0927 and Right of Entry Agreement have been reviewed by the County Attorney's Office.
