RECOMMENDATION:
9:01 a.m. - A Public Hearing Concerning the Review of an Ordinance Amending the Future Land Use Map - LSA-2020-01

That the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) review and approve an Ordinance amending Chapter 7, "The Future Land Use Element," Policy FLU 1.1.1, to provide for an amendment to the 2030 Future Land Use map, changing the Future Land Use category of a parcel, which is located within Section 05, Township 3S, Range 31W, and which is identified as Parcel ID Number 05-3S-31-1500-000-000, totaling 26.76 (+/-) acres, located on Blue Angel Parkway, from Commercial (C) to Mixed-Use Urban (MU-U).

This hearing serves as the second of two public hearings.
BACKGROUND:
An application was submitted requesting the change of the Future Land Use designation for a 26.76 (+/-) acre parcel in the 2700 BLK of Blue Angel Parkway from Commercial (C) to Mixed-Use Urban (MU-U).
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
No budgetary impact is anticipated by the adoption of this Ordinance.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
The attached Ordinance has been reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by Kia M. Johnson, Assistant County Attorney. Any recommended legal comments are attached herein.
PERSONNEL:
No additional personnel are required for implementation of this Ordinance.
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
The proposed Ordinance is consistent with the Board’s goal “to increase citizen involvement in, access to, and approval of, County government activities.”
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
This Ordinance, amending the Future Land Use Map (FLUM), will be filed with the Department of State following adoption by the board.

Implementation of this Ordinance will consist of an amendment to the FLUM and distribution of a copy of the adopted Ordinance to interested citizens and staff.

The proposed Ordinance was prepared by the Development Services Department, in cooperation with  the County Attorney’s Office and all interested citizens. The Development Services Department will ensure proper advertisement.
