RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Juvenile Justice Detention Center Lease at 1800 St. Mary Street - Cassie C. Boatwright, Director, Facilities Management

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the State of Florida, Agreement for Modification Number 2, Bureau of Leasing, Department of Management Services Form 4040, for the extension of the Lease with the Department of Juvenile Justice, for the lease of 30,355 square feet located at the Theodore Bruno Juvenile Justice Center, 1800 St. Mary Street, Pensacola, Florida, from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2030.

[Funding: Rent from this Lease will be deposited into the General Fund (001). Rent for the first year will be $433,100.01]
BACKGROUND:
The current lease with the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Center expires June 30, 2020. This Agreement for Modification will extend the lease for an additional 10 years beginning July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2030. Exhibit B details the rental rates, and Addendum G has been added to the Lease to clarify the County's and Juvenile Justice Detention Center's responsibilities for Janitorial and Pest Control Services.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Rent from this lease will be deposited into the General Fund (001). Rent for the first year will be $433,100.01.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
The Agreement for Modification Number 2 was approved by the County Attorney's Office as to form and legal sufficiency.
PERSONNEL:

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
Board policy requires the approval of the Board for Lease Agreements involving County-owned property.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Signatures are required by both parties.
