Recommendation Concerning Scheduling a Public Hearing Concerning Proposed Grant Application for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Bus and Bus Facilities Funding for Mass Transit Capital Projects - Tonya Ellis, Mass Transit Department Director
That the Board authorize the scheduling of a Public Hearing for August 6, 2020, at 5:33 p.m., for the purpose of receiving comments from the public concerning the Section 5339 proposed Grant Application by the Mass Transit Department, for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5339 Funds for Capital Projects.
[Funding: The Grant Application is for a total of $1,612,050. The local Match of $403,013 will be covered by Federal Highway Toll Revenue Credits.]
BACKGROUND:
FTA guidelines require that all applications for financial assistance from FTA be submitted after a public hearing is held for the purpose of receiving comments from the public concerning the Grant Program of Projects. Effective January 1, 2016, Grant Applications, Execution, and Grant Administration Progress Reports must be submitted electronically via the Transportation Award Management System (TrAMS).
The FTA Published apportionments under Section 5339, and this application includes funding for multiple financial years - FY17 through FY20 for a total of $1,612,050. Mass Transit staff recommend that the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners apply for these apportionments by approving this Application for the below Program of Projects.
