ESCAMBIA COUNTY EXTENSION COUNCIL
May 20, 2014  –  5:30 p.m.

1. Call to Order & Opening Remarks - Chairman Charles Woodward
             
2. Roll Call & Declaration of Quorum - Susan Hendrix
  Roll was called and a quorum was present.
             
3. Proof of Publication - Susan Hendrix

The meeting was properly noticed by a press release on Thursday, May 15, 2014.
             
4. Approval of Meeting Minutes of March 4, 2014 - Chairman Charles Woodward

Motion to accept the March 4, 2014, meeting minutes was made by Genevieve English-Charles and seconded by Christine Rogers. Passed unanimously.
             
5. Welcome and Introduction of Special Guest(s) - Chairman Charles Woodward
             
6. Training
a. Government-in-the-Sunshine - Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney
Overview of Sunshine Law was presented by Kristin Hual.

b. Code of Ethics - Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney
Code of Ethics policy was discussed by Kristin Hual.

c. Affirmative Action - Pam Allen
Overview of Affirmative Action Policy by Pam Allen.
   
             
7. New Building/Chalker Road Property Update - Pam Allen

Update on new property was given by Pam Allen.
             
8. 4-H Interview - Margaret Salter

Introduction of Margaret Salter was done by Pam Allen. Power point presentation was done by Ms. Salter, after which members had an opportunity to question the candidate. The Candidate then left the meeting. Discussion was held among the council members. Ballots were passed out and Chairman Woodward tallied the votes, announcing that the vote was unanimous to extend a letter of offer to Ms. Salter. Discussion was held regarding the next steps involved. Pam Allen noted that a motion was needed to extend the offer letter and then the University would begin their negotiations with the candidate. A motion to affirm the candidate and ask the University to extend an offer letter was made by Pat Bush. Motion was seconded by Larry Daniel. Motion was passed unanimously.

11. Adjournment - Chairman Charles Woodward

  Motion to adjourn was made by Genevieve English-Charles at 7:00 p.m. and seconded by Larry Daniel.  Meeting was adjourned by Chairman Woodward.
