MINUTES MERIT SYSTEM PROTECTION BOARD REGULAR MEETING JUNE 27, 2016 - 5:00 P.M. ERNIE LEE MAGAHA BUILDING 4th FLOOR TRAINING ROOM 221 PALAFOX PLACE PENSACOLA, FLORIDA 32502 Members Present: Rev. Gene Hudson, Fay Harvey, and Danny Lewis Members Absent: None Staff Present: V. Keith Wells


1.					CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER - Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Fay Harvey.

2.					INNOVATION - Faye Harvey

3.					PLEDGE - Rev. Gene Hudson

4.					ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA - There being no additions to the agenda, Rev. Gene Hudson moved to adopt the agenda. Danny Lewis seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Upon call for the approval of the minutes of the MSPB meeting of 3/8/2016, Danny Lewis moved for approval. Rev. Gene Hudson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

5.					PUBLIC FORUM - There were no speakers for Public Forum.

6.					OLD BUSINESS - The Board was informed of the dismissal entered by its Hearing Officer. The Board ratified a settlement agreement entered into between the county and employee. There was discussion about Assistant Attorney Smith being appointed by the Governor as County Judge.

7.					NEW BUSINESS - There was discussion about the pending elections, county jail employees, and employees of the Sheriff’s Department.

8.					IX. REPORT FROM APPOINTING AUTHORITY AND ELECTED OFFICIALS a. Board of County Commissioners b. Sheriff’s Office c. SRIA

9.					ATTORNEY'S REPORT - Board Attorney Keith Wells’ report was contained in the prior business portion of the meeting.

10.					ADJOURNMENT - Rev. Gene Hudson moved, Danny Lewis seconded, motion passed - adjournment.
