BACKGROUND: |
The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Office is designated as critical infrastructure by the Department of Homeland Security. It also conducts elections during the height (August and November) of hurricane season. The facility at 3201 West Navy Boulevard houses the central tabulation equipment, ballots, computers, voting equipment, documents with permanent retention and is home to other essential election functions. The equipment and computers have requirements for temperature and humidity control. This facility also serves as backup facility for the administration offices (COOP) for the Supervisor of Elections Office and needs to be fully functional during any storm or critical period where a power outage may be eminent. |
