RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Database Preparation for the Upgrade of the Current Software System for the Electronic Health Record - William R. Powell, Director of Corrections

That the Board approve and authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order totaling $59,360 for CorrecTek database preparation for the Spark Transition for the software upgrade to the current electronic health record software, per the quote provided.

BACKGROUND:

On July 7, 2009, Correctek and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office entered into an Agreement to obtain a license to CorrecTek’s software and technology, in order to replace a paper-based system for the medical department management. On September 16, 2013, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and CorrecTek assigned the contract to the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners. Information Resources has been in contact with CorrecTek for this implementation.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Senior Assistant County Attorney, reviewed the initial Agreement and assignment.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

The Recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999. Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Office of Purchasing will issue the Purchase Order. The Corrections Department will be the Contract Administrator for this Agreement.
