RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning the Contract Award for PD 19-20.017, Perdido Key Fire Station Concrete Repair - Cassie Boatwright, Director of Facilities Management and Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office Of Purchasing
That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement Between Escambia County, Florida, and Empire Builders Group, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 19-20.017, Perdido Fire Station Concrete Repairs, for the base bid of $339,426.94, and Alternate 1 in the amount of $25,236.74, for a total contractual amount of $364,663.68.

BACKGROUND: |
Deficiencies in the existing concrete pavement require the replacement of some of the pavement as recommended by the design consultant. This project is for the repairs and replacement of a portion of the existing concrete pavement at the Perdido Key Fire Station. The Base Bid consists of demolition of the northeast quadrant of the existing parking lot, where most of the deficiencies were identified, and replacing it with 8 inches of reinforced concrete on 8 inches of graded aggregate base. A new vinyl sheet pile wall will be constructed around the perimeter of the parking area in order to better protect the existing system. There were other areas that were identified as having less severe deficiencies, so they were bid out as alternates. Funding was available for the base bid and alternate. Base Bid, in the amount of $339,426.94, along with bid alternate number one, in the amount of $25,336.74, was selected, based on funding and priority, for a total of $364,663.68. |

The Office of Purchasing will issue Attorney Standard Form of Contract, Form D, Paving and Drainage. George Bush, Escambia County Facilities Management Department, will be the Contract Administrator. |
