RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning Contract Award for Installation, Refurbish, and Removal of Pavement Markings and Associated Items - Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director
That the Board amend its action of February 7, 2019, Section II, Item #18, approving and authorizing the Interim County Administrator to sign the Agreements Relating to Pavement Markings between Escambia County and Gulf Coast Traffic Engineers, Inc., and Ozark Striping Company, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 18-19.007, Installation, Refurbish, and Removal of Pavement Markings and Associated Items, with a total Fiscal Year 2018-2019 expenditure of $300,000, to increase the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 expenditure to $650,000, and add cost centers to the Recommendation.

BACKGROUND: |
In regular session on February 7, 2019, the Board approved Contract PD 18-19.007 for Installation, Refurbish, and Removal of Pavement Markings and Associated Items to Gulf Coast Traffic Engineers, Inc. and Ozark Striping Company. At that time, the annual amount for the Fiscal Year was approved for $300,000 in Fund 175, Transportation Trust Fund, Cost Center 211201, Traffic Operations. Since that Board meeting, it has been determined that the annual cost for this contract should be $650,000 and split between Fund 175, Transportation Trust Fund ($500,000), Fund 352, LOST III ($50,000), Fund 353, LOST IV ($50,000), and Fund 167, Bob Sikes Toll Fund ($50,000). To date, we have encumbered $300,000 for striping and have an additional approximately $70,000 waiting for Board approval to issue work orders/purchase orders. |
