RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Appointment of Jack P. Brown to the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee for District 2

That the Board ratify Commissioner Underhill's appointment of Jack P. Brown as his appointee on the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee, effective April 18, 2019, and continuing until the Board sunsets the Committee or through Commissioner Underhill's term of office (2022).

BACKGROUND:

At the March 7, 2019, Board of County Commissioners' Regular Meeting, the Board adopted Resolution R2019-30 establishing the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee for the new $400 million dollar bridge over Pensacola Bay.

At that same Board of County Commissioners' Regular Meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Cristov Dosev to the Bridge Naming Committee for District 2. On April 18, 2019, Commissioner Underhill accepted Mr. Dosev's withdrawal from the Committee and appointed Jack P. Brown to serve as District 2's appointee. County Attorney Alison Rogers advised that Mr. Brown can serve on the Committee effective April 18, 2019, due to its first committee meeting scheduled on May 1, 2019.
