RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Memorandum of Agreement for Community Transportation Coordinator for Escambia County (MOA # 1448) - Mike Crittenden, Mass Transit Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Memorandum of Agreement for Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) with the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (FCTD):

A. Approve the Memorandum of Agreement Extension for one year commencing on July 1, 2019, and ending on June 30, 2020, and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Memorandum of Agreement Extension for execution of one year commencing on July 1, 2019, and ending on June 30, 2020.

[Funding for the Transportation Disadvantaged/Paratransit program is provided by the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and is included in the Mass Transit Fund 104]

BACKGROUND:

The County previously entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged on April 29, 2014 effective June 1, 2014 for a period of 5 years. That Agreement is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2019. Due to an administrative oversight that occurred during the 2018 Legislative Session, the FCTD would like to extend the current MOA with Escambia County for a period of one year until June 30, 2020.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funding for the Transportation Disadvantaged/Paratransit program is provided by the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and is included in the Mass Transit Fund 104.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Senior Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed as to form and legal sufficiency.

Upon approval of this recommendation, Mass Transit Staff will coordinate with FCTD Staff for implementation.
