RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Approval of an Antenna Mounting Space License Agreement between Escambia County and Five Flags Amateur Radio Association, Inc.- Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Antenna Mounting Space License Agreement between Escambia County and Five Flags Amateur Radio Association, Inc.:

A. Approve the Antenna Mounting Space License Agreement; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Agreement and any subsequent related documents without further action of the Board.

BACKGROUND:

Five Flags Amateur Radio Association provides volunteer staffing to the Emergency Operations Center to enhance communications capabilities during disaster preparation, response, and recovery. The mounting of a digital radio repeater on the Public Safety radio tower will enhance capabilities in digital radio communications during Emergency Operations Center activations.

Kristin Hual, County Attorney, reviewed the agreement and approved it as to form and legal sufficiency.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Andrew Hamilton, Escambia County Communications Division Chief, will be responsible to monitor and implement the provisions of the amendment.
