RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Authorization for Access and Signature for the Transit Award Management System - Mike Crittenden, Mass Transit Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Transit Award Management System (TrAMS) Memo:

A. Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Designation of Signature Authority for the TrAMS memo; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) so that the Chairman may, on behalf of Escambia County, Florida, file and execute applications and documents required for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Grants.

BACKGROUND:

The FTA annually publishes Certifications and Assurances that must be signed by the Chairman of the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners. They also require a log in for TrAMS, and the delegated authority to PIN grants, annual certifications and assurances, and other documents as become necessary to be pinned in the TrAMS. FTA requires the Delegation of Signature authority to be uploaded with the request for access in TrAMS. County Staff request that the Chairman Commissioner Jeff Bergosh be approved to be assigned a PIN by FTA by signing the included memo – the format for which was provided by the FTA.

Upon approval, Mass Transit staff will submit the signed memo to FTA. The Chairman will be authorized to have a PIN.
