Pursuant to § 46-102, Escambia County Code of Ordinances, Roberson Excavation, Inc. was suspended from the Responsible Vendor List for all County projects effective January 19, 2017. On March 31, 2017, the County Administrator responded to letters from Roberson Underground Utility, LLC, dated March 15 and 16, 2017 asserting that Roberson Underground Utility, LLC was not a related entity or person and, thereby, would not be affected by the suspension of Roberson Excavation, Inc. The County Administrator informed Roberson Underground Utility, LLC that there was a sufficient relationship between Roberson Underground Utility, LLC and Roberson Excavation, Inc. that the suspension of Roberson Excavation, Inc. would be imputed to Roberson Underground Utility, LLC.
Roberson Excavation, Inc. was the contractor for the Cray Road Dirt Road Paving project, # PD 14-15.078. During the course of the work, Roberson Excavation sub-contracted the project to Roberson Underground Utility, which is operated by Ray Roberson who is the son of Billy Ray Roberson, a principal of Roberson Excavation, Inc. The project was completed on May 4, 2017. Cooper Saunders, Project Coordinator for the Cray Road Dirt Road Paving project, was very satisfied with the performance of Roberson Underground Utility, LLC under the leadership of Ray Roberson. Due to the satisfactory work performed by Ray Roberson and Roberson Underground Utility, LLC, the suspension should be vacated as to Roberson Underground Utility, LLC. |
