RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Supplemental Budget Amendment #172 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board adopt the Resolution approving Supplemental Budget Amendment #172, Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) III Fund (352) and Series 2017 Capital Project Fund (311), in the amount of $7,828,680, to recognize anticipated Federal Emergency Management Agency Funds (FEMA) and a transfer of LOST III Funds in Fund (311), for the construction of the new Jail Facility where all associated construction costs related to this project will be captured.
BACKGROUND:
This Supplemental Budget Amendment anticipates FEMA proceeds in the amount of $50,143,051 and a transfer of LOST Funds in the amount of $6,174,261 to Fund (311). The Capital Projects bond proceeds have also been recognized in Fund (311) to move forward with all expenditures associated with the New Jail construction.

In April 2014 the Central Booking Detention Facility (CBDF) sustained significant damage rendering it unusable or repairable. FEMA will pay 87.5% of the estimated costs to rebuild a Jail Facility similar to the CBDF (based on project worksheet 1006).
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
This amendment will increase Fund 311 by $56,317,312 and decrease Fund 352 by $48,488,632.
