RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Letter of Agreement between Escambia County and Gulf Coast Crimestoppers Inc. - Amy Lovoy, Assistant County Administrator

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Letter of Agreement (LOA) between the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and Gulf Coast Crimestoppers Inc., which will allow the organization to make application and receive funds from the State Crime Stoppers Trust Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The State of Florida has a long-established Crime Stoppers Trust Fund from which local units of their organization may receive grants. Gulf Coast Crimestoppers has been the locally approved affiliate for over 15 years. The State requires the following of an unit in order to be considered for a trust fund grant:
- Must be a registered, valid 501c(3)
- Must have an updated LOA with the local Board of County Commissioners
- Must have a board of directors with an active set of bylaws
- Must be a registered vendor with MyFloridaMarketplace.com
