RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Issuance of Purchase Orders on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement - Joy D. Blackmon, P.E., Public Works Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the issuance of Purchase Orders on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement: 

A. Approve the Issuance of a Purchase Order to Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc., in the amount of $345,908.62, on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement, for the Montclair Resurfacing Phase II Project (Project #08EN0208); and

B. Approve the Issuance of a Purchase Order to Heaton Brothers, in the amount of $178,187.74, on Contract PD 14-15.064, General Paving and Drainage Agreement, for the Corto, Largo, and Rio Vista Intersection Repair Project (Project #15EN3354).

BACKGROUND:
A Purchase Order will be issued on Contract PD 14-15.064 "General Paving and Drainage Agreement" to Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc., for the Montclair Resurfacing Phase 2 Project. This is a resurfacing project to mill 1.5”-3” of existing asphalt and install 1.5” of SP12.5 asphalt to the following roadways: Charmonte Way, LeMoyne Lane, Chantilly Way, Monpellier Drive, Belair Road.  The total cost of this project is $345,908.62.

A Purchase Order will also be issued on Contract PD 14-15.064 "General Paving and Drainage Agreement" to Heaton Brothers for the Corto, Largo and Rio Vista Project.  This project is to repair the intersections of Corto, Largo and Rio Vista Drives. This project will include the installation of concrete paving, excavation of existing asphalt and base, re-grading the roadway, raising the intersections to allow proper water flow into the outfall swale, replacement of driveways, shoulder work and sod. The low bidders, Roads, Inc. of NWF, and Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc., declined this job.  The total amount requested is $178,187.74.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funds are available in Fund 352 "LOST III", Cost Center 210107, Object Code 56301.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This recommendation is in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, Chapter 46, Article II, Purchases and Contracts.

Upon approval of the recommendation, a requisition will be transmitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing
