Recommendation Concerning the Federal Fiscal Year 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – JAG Countywide – State Solicitation - Catherine A. White, Director of Case Management
That the Board take the following action concerning the Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – JAG Countywide – State Solicitation:
A. Ratify the Chairman’s signature on the Certificate of Participation;
B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the 51% letter of support for the distribution of Grant funding; and
C. Authorize the Chairman, as the County’s representative, to sign Amendments and requests for payment, or other related documents as may be required.
BACKGROUND:
In accordance with the Federal FY 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – JAG Countywide – State Solicitation, all agencies interested in requesting grant funds were asked to submit a detailed project proposal for review. The grant review committee reviewed and approved the grant proposals on June 3, 2016.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The funds are made available through the Federal FY 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – JAG Countywide – State Solicitation for the period beginning October 1, 2016, and terminating September 30, 2017. There is no cost to the County.

Board policy requires Board approval and authorization to execute grant documents.
