Recommendation Concerning Approval for Remote Area Medical to Hold a Free Clinic in Pensacola, Florida - Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, IV, District 4

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a letter to Ms. JoAnn Vanfleteren, President of Ascendant Partnership and Host Committee Chair of Remote Medical Clinic, to approve her request to allow Remote Area Medical to hold a free clinic in Pensacola, Florida, on February 18-19, 2017.

BACKGROUND:

Ms. JoAnn Vanfleteren, President of Ascendant Partnership is working with Remote Area Medical Clinic to bring a clinic to Escambia County in February 2017. Remote Area Medical provides medical care through mobile clinic events in underserved, isolated, or impoverished communities throughout the country. Remote Area Medical and medical volunteers from around the Gulf Coast will be providing free medical services to members of the community during the two-day clinic. There are no eligibility or insurance requirements.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funding required to hold the free clinic event will be paid by Ascendant Partnership.
