| RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning the Purchase of Two Trucks, Cabover Style Crew Cab & Chassis, Dual Rear Wheel for the Road Division - Joy D. Blackmon, P.E., Public Works Department Director
That the Board authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order to Ward International Trucks, in the amount of $114,000, for two 2017 Isuzu Cabover Style Crew Cab & Chassis, Dual Rear Wheel Truck, for the Road Division, according to the specifications of VE 15-16.013.
The Purchasing Department posted the request on the Escambia County website for 30 days, beginning May 4, 2016. One additional responsive quote was obtained from Deland Truck Center, Inc.

| BACKGROUND: |
| These Cabover Crew Cab trucks, upon purchase, will replace a model in the current fleet. The current unit will be auctioned as surplus. These new units will facilitate the continuation of the Road Division's Right-of-Way Beautification program. A quote was obtained from Deland Truck Center, Inc., for the purchase based on the specifications of VE15-16.031. The Purchasing Department posted the request on the Escambia County Website for 30 days, beginning May 04, 2016. One additional responsive quote was obtained from Ward International Trucks, Pensacola. |

| POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION: |
This recommendation is in compliance with the Escambia County, FL Code of Ordinances, Chapter 46, Article II, Section 46-44, Application; exemptions; and Section 46-64, Board approval, and Award a Purchase Order.
In an effort to encourage competition from local businesses and in compliance with Board adopted policy, this purchase was advertised on the county's website for 30 days. One additional, more responsive quote was received. |
| IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION: |
| Upon Board approval, the Office of Purchasing will be requested to issue a Purchase Order. |
