Recommendation Concerning the Scheduling and Advertising of a Public Hearing to Amend the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund - Tonya Gant, Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board ratify the following June 16, 2016, action of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, acting in its capacity as the Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), authorizing the scheduling and advertising of a Public Hearing for Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 5:31 p.m., for consideration of adopting an Ordinance of Escambia County, Florida, amending Chapter 46, Article VI, Section 46-290(b) of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances relating to the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund; providing for an amended legislative finding to expand the boundaries of the area consistent with R2015-137.

On June 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., a CRA meeting was convened to recommend to the Board to scheduling and advertising a Public Hearing for Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 5:31 p.m., to consider adoption of an Ordinance amending the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund.  A copy of the Ordinance and map of the area is attached.

Funding for the proper advertisement will be provided through the CRA Cantonment TIF, Fund 151, Cost Center 370118.

Kristan Hual, Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved the Ordinance as to form and legal sufficiency.

No additional personnel is necessary.

Schedule a Public Hearing for the amended Ordinance is in compliance with the Board guidelines and procedures.

Upon Board adoption of the Ordinance, NHS/CRA staff, in coordination with other County Departments, Chris Jones Property Appraisers, and Cantonment Improvement Committee, will process the necessary documents for the Cantonment Trust Fund which will include the expanded area.
