Recommendation Concerning to Schedule and Advertise a Public Hearing to amend the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund - Tonya Gant, Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board take the following action to schedule and advertise a Public Hearing for Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 5:31 p.m., for consideration to adopt an Ordinance of Escambia County, Florida, amending Chapter 46, Article VI, Section 46-290(b) of the Escambia Code of Ordinances relating to the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund; providing for an amended legislative finding to expand the boundaries of the area consistent with R2015-137; providing for severability; providing for inclusion in the code; and providing for an effective date.

On June 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., a CRA meeting was convened to recommend to the Board to schedule and advertise a Public Hearing for Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 5:31 p.m., to consider adoption of an Ordinance amending the Cantonment Redevelopment Trust Fund.  A map of the area is attached.

Funding for the proper advertisement will be provided through the CRA Cantonment TIF, Fund 151, Cost Center 370118.

Kristan Hual, Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved the Ordinance as to form and legal sufficiency.

No additional personnel is necessary.

Schedule a Public Hearing for the amended Ordinance is in compliance with the Board guidelines and procedures.

Upon Board adoption of the Ordinance, NHS/CRA staff, in coordination with other County Departments, Chris Jones Property Appraisers, and Cantonment Improvement Committee, will process the necessary documents for the Cantonment Trust Fund which will include the expanded area.
