RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Business Sponsorship Agreement between Escambia County and Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc. - Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Department Director

That the Board take the following action regarding the Business Sponsorship Agreement between the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., for the provision of allowing Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., a sponsorship opportunity by supplying two 2016 Chevrolet Colorado midsize pick-up trucks for Public Safety on Pensacola Beach on a zero-cost lease:

A. Adopt the Resolution authorizing the “Safe Shores” Business Sponsorship Proposal;

B. Approve the Business Sponsorship Agreement between the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., for the provision of allowing Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., a sponsorship opportunity by supplying two 2016 Chevrolet Colorado midsize pick-up trucks for Public Safety on Pensacola Beach on a zero-cost lease;

C. Authorize the Chairman to execute the Resolution and the Business Sponsorship Agreement; and

D. Authorize Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Department Director, to execute all related documents as required to implement the Business Sponsorship Agreement without further Board action.

BACKGROUND:

The County has established a Business Sponsorship Policy for the community to participate in sponsorship opportunities to provide goods, services, or financial support for the benefit of its citizens and visitors. Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., desires to participate in a sponsorship opportunity with the County by supplying two 2016 Chevrolet Colorado midsize pick-up trucks for Public Safety on Pensacola Beach on a zero-cost lease. The vehicles will be used by the Pensacola Beach Water Safety Division to educate and protect the public. The agreement may be terminated for cause or convenience by either party upon providing thirty days written notice to the non-terminating party.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The Resolution and the Business Sponsorship Agreement have been reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by Kristin Hual, Assistant County Attorney.

PERSONNEL:

N/A

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board Policy requires Board Approval of all Agreements.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon BCC approval and proper execution, Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Department Director, will oversee implementation of the Agreement and work in close cooperation with Pete Moore Chevrolet, Inc., representatives.
