BACKGROUND:
Escambia County Public Works staff requests the Board's approval to transfer $175,000 from the Nims Lane Drainage Project (District 5) and $79,115 from Miscellaneous District 3 projects (listed above), which have been completed, to the projects described below:

Description District Amount Description of Project
Hamilton Crossing 5 $125,000

Project consists of installing roadside curbing, inlets and stormwater piping. Sections of the roadway will be improved to direct stormwater into inlets. Drainage improvements will help reduce flooding in the area. Awaiting final plans. Will bid through the pricing agreement in May, earliest start for construction is June.

Muscogee Road 5 $  50,000

This project consists of widening the existing roadway between CR 297A and the Perdido River and improving drainage features within this area. Since this is a freight corridor, the roadway will be designed and constructed to accommodate the heavy traffic utilizing this roadway. This will aid in funding for Phase W2, which is the area from Beulah to Carlisle. A Local Agency Program Agreement for $1.6M has been submitted to FDOT for approval.

Figland Road 3 $79,115
This project will help to alleviate flooding problems in the Figland Park area, particularly concentrated along Figland Avenue. These additional funds are needed for the project to proceed to bid and construction.
