RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement for Reciprocal Evacuation and Re-entry Among the City of Orange Beach, Alabama; Escambia County, Florida; and the Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff's Department - Michael D. Weaver, Public Safety Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement for Reciprocal Evacuation and Re-entry Among the City of Orange Beach, Alabama, Escambia County, Florida, and the Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff's Department:

A. Approve the First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement.
BACKGROUND:
The parties previously entered into an Interlocal Agreement for Reciprocal Evacuation and Re-entry, recorded on January 18, 2008, in Official Records Book 6277, Pages 285-306 of the Official Records of Escambia County, Florida, to allow for and facilitate reciprocal evacuation and post-evacuation re-entry of Perdido Key, Florida, and the City of Orange Beach, Alabama.

Recently, the County adopted the 2015 Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) that included a revised re-entry plan, and with that revision, the parties found that it was in the best interest of the public to amend the Interlocal Agreement to include the County's revised re-entry plan.
