RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Scheduling of a Public Hearing to Consider Adopting an Ordinance amending Chapter 46, Article II, Section 46-110 relating to local preference in bidding.

That the Board authorize the scheduling of a public hearing on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 5:35 p.m. to consider an Ordinance amending Volume I, Chapter 46, Article II, Section 46-110 relating to local preference in bidding.

BACKGROUND:

By Board action on September 16, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners previously adopted Ordinance Number 2013-43 relating to local preference in bidding to provide local businesses with a preference in the County’s procurement of goods and services. The proposed amendment will provide an enhanced preference for local businesses located in a designated Community Redevelopment Area.
