RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Panhandle Library Access Network (PLAN), Innovation Grant Funding Acceptance Agreement - Todd Humble, Library Services Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Panhandle Library Access Network (PLAN), Innovation Grant Funding Acceptance Agreement for Sprouting Creativity program:

A. Approve the Panhandle Library Access Network Innovation Grant Funding Acceptance Agreement;

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Innovation Grant Funding Acceptance Agreement and all related documents as required to implement the awarded Sprouting Creativity program; and

C. Authorize the acceptance and disbursement of the Grant funds awarded in the amount of $10,260, per Board policy, with West Florida Public Libraries funding 10% from Library Fund (113), Cost Center Information Systems, adopted in the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget (total Sprouts Creativity program $11,400).

BACKGROUND:

The Panhandle Library Access Network Innovation Grant was announced to West Florida Public Libraries on October 14, 2015 with a due date of October 31, 2015. The West Florida Public Libraries Board of Governance approved the submission on October 19, 2015 to meet the short timeline of available to complete the submission by October 31, 2015.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The grant funds will be included in the FY 15-16 annual budget for the West Florida Public Libraries when received. The grant funds in the amount of $10,260 will be issued in 2 installments, payments of 50% each, February 1, 2016 and March 1, 2016. West Florida Public Libraries will fund 10% of the total Sprouts Creativity project, in the amount of $1,140 from within the Library’s existing Budget.
