This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II, Purchases and Contracts. The Invitation to Bid PD 14-15.083 Medical Supplies was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on August 17, 2015 per the Purchasing Policy for utilization of Cooperative Purchase Agreement – PP120. Three bids were received on November 16, 2015 for the multiple award for the purchase of medical supplies for the Public Safety Department. The Public Safety Department has reviewed the bids from all three vendors and has recommended the utilization of the MMCAP agreement for the most favorable pricing for Henry Schein and entered into a County agreement with Boundtree Medical LLC and Midwest Medical Supply Co. LLC. The multiple award approach for the purchase of medical supplies allows the Public Safety Department to price the items from all three vendors prior to ordering and purchase at the best price at the time of ordering. Continuity of mission critical services provided by the Public Safety Department is ensured by maintaining multiple sources of medical supplies.
