Recommendation Concerning Budget Amendment #006 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board approve Budget Amendment #006, General Fund, in the amount of $75,855, to cover the creation of two additional positions for Fiscal Year 2015/2016 at the Escambia County Animal Shelter. This funding is associated with a Kennel Technician and a Senior Kennel Technician and is necessary to safely and adequately staff the facility, as well as maintain operational continuity. These positions are currently not in the Budget.

BACKGROUND:

BA#006 is necessary to cover the creation of two additional positions for Fiscal Year 2015/2016 at the Escambia County Animal Shelter. This funding is associated with a Kennel Technician and a Senior Kennel Technician and is necessary to safely and adequately staff the facility as well as maintain operational continuity. These positions are currently not in the Budget.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will increase personnel funds and decrease reserves by $75,855.

PERSONNEL:

Two additional positions will be created, a Kennel Technician and a Senior Kennel Technician for the Animal Shelter.

Board policy requires increases in personnel funds to be approved by the Board.
