RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning County Road 196 (CR 97 to CR 99) Paved Shoulders Project - Claudia Simmons, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing
That the Board award Contract PD 14-15.009, for the County Road (CR) 196 (CR 97 to CR 99) Paved Shoulders Project, FPID Number: 429670-4-58-01, Federal Number: 8886-499-A, to Panhandle Grading & Paving, Inc., in the amount of $1,200,292.80.

BACKGROUND: |
The Invitation to Bid PD 14-15.009 was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal June 1, 2015. Eighteen firms were notified. A total of three bids were received on July 1, 2015. Panhandle Grading and Paving, Inc., is the low bidder. This project consists of roadway pavement widening, constructing paved shoulders, and resurfacing CR 196 from CR 97 to CR 99 (see plans for complete list of quantities). This project will include other work associated with the resurfacing and widening of the roadway such as headwall construction, removing and installing side drain and mitered end sections, removal and installation of guardrail, maintenance of traffic, storm-water pollution prevention, sodding, pavement striping, etc. The contractor is to maintain traffic flow at all times with minimal delays.
