RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Clerk of Court 2nd Floor Office Modifications - Stephan Hall, Management and Budget Services Interim Department Director

That the Board award Contract PD 14-15.059, Clerk of Court 2nd Floor Office Modifications, to Empire Builders Group, Inc., in the amount of $56,167, which includes the Base Bid, in the amount of $49,607, and Bid Alternate Number 3, in the amount of $6,560.

BACKGROUND:
The project was formally advertised on June 1, 2015, in the Pensacola New Journal and twenty- four (24) firms were notified on June 1, 2015.  Five sealed bids were opened in the Office of Purchasing on June 17, 2015.  Empire Builders Group, Inc., was the lowest responsive bidder.  The project will be awarded to include the Base Bid and Alternate #3 in the amount of $56,176.00.

Funding for this project was appropriated on January 22, 2015, on Fund Balance SBA No. 32, in the amount of $60,000.  The purpose of this project is to construct two offices with adjoining conference rooms for County Civil and County Criminal Divisions for the Clerk of Court located at the MC Blanchard Judicial Building.  The current open work areas in those Divisions do not provide private areas to accommodate public viewing of computers, as mandated by the Supreme Court.  Additionally, these offices will allow for managers to meet with their staff on Human Resource issues and confidential matters.  The work shall include the construction of new interior walls, windows and doors as well as minor mechanical, electrical and fire protection improvements.  A total of six bids were received.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
The Office of Purchasing will distribute the Contract and Purchase Order.
