Recommendation Concerning the West Florida Regional Planning Council Interlocal Agreement - Jack R. Brown, County Administrator

That the Board approve the Interlocal Agreement among the Board of County Commissioners of Bay County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Holmes County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Rosa County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Walton County, Florida; the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County, Florida; and the West Florida Regional Planning Council (RPC), to engage the RPC to serve in an advisory capacity as the regional planning entity to provide area-wide coordination for the Constituents, as defined in the Interlocal Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The Interlocal Agreement formally engages the RPC to serve in an advisory capacity as the regional planning entity to provide area-wide coordination for the Constituents, to include Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Washington, and Holmes County. Per the agreement, the RPC will be governed by a board of directors with representatives appointed by the governing body of each Constituent. Business of the RPC will be managed under the direction of the Board. The Board will also adopt an annual budget and work program for the RPC with each Constituent contributing a proportionate share of funding.
