BACKGROUND:
Meeting in regular session on January 22, 2015, the Board approved PD14-15.004 between Maxim Healthcare Services DBA Maxim Physician Resources and Escambia County for temporary physician staffing to supplement the Escambia County Jail Inmate Medical division.  Due to employment vacancies within the Inmate Medical division, the use of a temporary full time physician became necessary to meet the needs of the incarcerated population.  The department would like to request a change order in excess of $50,000, bringing the total of the PO up to $104,400.  This will provide the funding necessary to remit payment to the vendor through the end of fiscal year 2015 as we see no need for the continued assistance of Maxim at this time.  As of 5/19/2015, the vacancies which caused the need for this temporary physician have been filled.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Funding is available in General Fund 001, Correction Department; Inmate Medical Cost Center 290402; Object Code 53101.
