RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Interlocal Agreement between Escambia County and the City of Pensacola Relating to Food and Beverage Concession Services at the West Florida Public Library Downtown Main Library - Darlene Howell, Library Administrator

That the Board take the following action concerning the Interlocal Agreement between Escambia County and the City of Pensacola Relating to Food and Beverage Concession Services at the West Florida Public Library Downtown Main Library:

A. Approve the Interlocal Agreement between Escambia County and the City of Pensacola Relating to Food and Beverage Concession Services at the West Florida Public Library Downtown Main Library; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The original construction design for the City of Pensacola’s Main Library construction project included plans for a café that would serve food and beverages within the library. Upon project completion, the café did not meet the necessary operability standards required to function in this capacity.

The West Florida Public Library System and the West Florida Public Library Board of Governance would like to complete the project as proposed. As the Library has the necessary funds available from the closeout of the Downtown library donor construction fund, the intent is that Escambia County will renovate the area to enable the café to become fully operational. This will be at no additional cost to the City of Pensacola or Escambia County.

It is recommended that the County agree to the proposed Interlocal Agreement between Escambia County and the City of Pensacola relating to Food Services at the downtown location of the West Florida Public Library so it may be utilized as envisioned.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The funds are included in the FY 14/15 annual budget for the West Florida Public Library System.
