Recommendation Concerning a Change Order to Department of Community Corrections for Temporary Housing for Escambia County Jail Inmates Housed at the Work Release Facility - Jack R. Brown, County Administrator

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to execute the following Change Order 3 to Department of Community Corrections, adding funds for temporary housing of Escambia County Jail Inmates at the Work Release Facility in order to remit payment through end of Fiscal Year 2015 (The Board's initial Purchase Order approval was June 3, 2014) :

BACKGROUND:
On June 3, 2014, the Board ratified purchase order #141331 to the Department of Community Corrections in the amount of $876,000. This purchase order was issued under the Declaration of a Local State of Emergency for Escambia County, effective April 29, 2014 through May 27, 2014 as a result of the Flood Event of April 2014. Per Risk Manager, Robert Dye, to date these funds have been reimbursed from the advance funds the County received from the Insurers. The preliminary amount of $876,000 was projected to fund the temporary housing of inmates for 12 months. Over the last several months, to assist in the housing of Escambia County Jail Inmates, additional space has been made available at the Escambia County Work Release Program for the Jail.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:
This recommendation is in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, Florida, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II, Purchase and Contracts.
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Upon approval of this recommendation, a change order will be submitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing.
