Recommendation Concerning a Request for Funding for the 2014 Pelican Drop and/or Mardi Gras Celebration - Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, IV, District 4
That the Board consider the request by the Downtown Improvement Board for $15,000, to be funded from the District 4, 4th Cent Tourist Development Tax, for the 2014 Pelican Drop and/or the Mardi Gras Celebration, and approve a Purchase Order for this purpose.
BACKGROUND:
The Downtown Improvement Board is requesting $15,000 to assist in funding the 2014 Pelican Drop and/or the Mardi Gras Celebration in downtown Pensacola, Florida.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The Board placed $250,000 in the 4th Cent Tourist Development Tax reserves. These funds were to be allocated by the Board for events and other tourist promotion activities.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:
Should the Board vote to fund all or part of this request, staff will issue a Purchase Order for this event to the Downtown Improvement Board.
