RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning International Paper Company Easement - Muscogee Road

That the Board take the following action:

A. Authorize acceptance of the attached easement to build a stormwater retention pond in the Muscogee Road area of Cantonment, Florida; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to execute the easement; and

C Authorize the payment of documentary stamps because the easement is being donated for governmental use, which is for road and drainage improvements, and benefits the Public from the acceptance of the easement, which will enhance the safety and well-being of the citizens of Escambia County; and

D. Authorize the payment of incidental expenditures associated with the recording of documents.

BACKGROUND:

Escambia County needs to acquire property for a storm water retention pond in the Muscogee Road area of Cantonment, Florida. Our engineering department identified a parcel owned by International Paper Company as a potential site to address significant drainage and stormwater concerns for the Carver Park neighborhood.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Fund 352 “LOST III”, Cost Center 210107, Object Code 56101, Project #14EN2605 “Carver Park.”

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The easement was drafted and approved by the County Attorney's Office and the International Paper counsel.
