That the Board authorize the scheduling of a Public Hearing on December 11, 2014 at 5:32 p.m. to consider an Ordinance amending Chapter 10, Article I, Section 10-25, the Pensacola Beach Dog Park; Chapter 30, Article III, Section 30-62, Code Enforcement Officers; and Chapter 102, Article III, Sections 102-64, Definitions and 102-67 Enforcement Procedures; appointing auxiliary code enforcement officers for the enforcement of Sections 10-25, 74-36(18), and 102-65 of the code.
BACKGROUND:
The Board has authority to appoint code enforcement officers pursuant to section 162.21(2), Fla. Stat. (2014).  The Santa Rosa Island Authority expressed a desire to have certain senior level employees appointed as code enforcement officers for the limited purpose of monitoring and issuing citations for violations of Section 10-25, the Pensacola Beach Dog Park Ordinance, 74-36(18) related to jumping/diving off Quietwater Pier, and Section 102-65 of the Santa Rosa Island Glass Safety Ordinance.  The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 30, Article III, Section 30-62 to appoint senior level employees of the Santa Rosa Island Authority, as identified by resolution, to serve as auxiliary code enforcement officers for the forementioned purposes only.  The ordinance also amends Sections 10-25, 102-64, and 102-67 to be consistent with Section 30-62, as amended.
