From:
ALISON ROGERS, County Attorney
Organization:
County Attorney's Office
CAO Approval:
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning SRIA's Proposal Regarding eScooters on Pensacola Beach.
That the Board discuss the SRIA's proposal regarding eScooters and determine whether to schedule a public hearing on December 5, 2019, at 5:33 p.m. to consider an ordinance regulating micromobility devices.
BACKGROUND:
Current Florida law allows local governments to regulate micromobility devices. The SRIA has asked the BCC to consider enacting an ordinance that would prohibit such devices in the Commercial Core of Pensacola Beach as reflected by SRIA vote at its meeting on October 9, 2019, as well as the attached letter from the SRIA Executive Director. If so directed, the County Attorney's Office can draft an appropriate ordinance and present it to the Board for action.
